The City of DeQuincy announced that it is the recipient of one of the 47 2025-26 Keep Louisiana Beautiful (KLB) trash receptacle grants.
As part of the requirements of this grant, the City will perform a post installation litter scan and compare the data collected – trash and what type of trash it is –to preliminary scan results. Data will be shared with the public once available.
“Recent data collected by Keep Louisiana Beautiful shows a reduction of litter by 78 percent in areas where trash receptacles are properly installed and maintained,” said Susan Russell, KLB Executive Director in correspondence with the City. “One of our organization’s key initiatives to help build infrastructure that supports clean, beautiful communities. Funding trash receptacles in one way we do that.”
Keep Louisiana Beautiful is a state program under the Office of the Lieutenant Governor and the Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism that promotes a personal, corporate and community responsibility for a clean and beautiful Louisiana.
