Erma Owens was born Feb. 25, 1934, to Ben and Bertha Middleton at their home at Pioneer. She passed from this life on Saturday, Apr. 11, 2026, at her home in Shreveport.
Erma was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. M. D. Owens; parents, Ben Middleton and Bertha Middleton Rushing; brother, B. F. Middleton; sisters, Mary Eldridge, Ottie Westerburg; and infant, Martha Middleton.
She is survived by daughter, Jeanette Owens; grandsons, Rev. Jarod Needham (Laura) and Lt. Col. Jonathan Needham (Amber); great-grandchildren, Valarie Needham Watson (Sebastian), Erika Needham Dearborn (George), Keira Needham, Remi Needham, Jaxon Needham, Judah Needham, James Needham; great-great-grandchildren Kate Watson, Alice Watson; sisters, Myrtis Poole (Len), Elaine Harville; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
The family received friends from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m., Saturday, Apr. 18, at Kings Temple United Pentecostal Church in Shreveport. Interment followed at Forest Park Cemetery in Shreveport.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
