Tigers beat Westminster

By Jake McCoy

On Saturday, Feb. 28, the DeQuincy Tigers played against the Westminster Christian-Lafayette Chargers in their last game of the annual Sammy Dean Yellott memorial tournament.

The Tigers would strike first in the second inning but the Chargers would tie things up in the third and from there both teams would trade scores. Ultimately the Tigers sixth inning surge would be the difference in the ball game as they would go on to complete the weekend sweep internment play.

Turner Rodriguez was 2-4 with an RBI, Noah Pettifield was 2-4 with 3 RBIs, Khale Miller was 1-4, Bryce Dyson was 2-3 with an RBI, Tucker Goza was 1-3, and Grant Rainwater was 2-2 with an RBI.
