Kash Goldblum will attend the Economics for Leaders program at Yale University this summer. This highly selective program is designed to equip promising high school students with leadership skills while training them in the application of economic analysis to public policy decisions.
Goldblum was selected as part of the advanced cohort, where he will be trained in college-level intermediate micro- and macro-economics topics including theories behind economic growth, demand curves and asset pricing.
He has completed his junior year at Berkeley High Speech and Debate Team and was named varsity finalist at the New York Parliamentary Debate League California Invitational in November 2024 and varsity quarter – finalist at the Calemont Wolfpack Invitational in February 2025. Prior to this, he was president of the Berkeley High Chess Club. He is fluent in a variety of programming languages. He will be applying to college in the fall and aims to study quantitative economics or finance.
He is the son of Dr. Bethany Goldblum (nee Lyles) and grandson of Charles “Bubba” and Penny Blackburn of DeQuincy,
His great-grandparents are the late Nat and Faye Penton and the late Bettye Groves.
