Imogene Mitchell Davis, 96, formerly of Dawson Springs, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 17, 2025, in Silsbee, Texas. She was born on Jan. 26, 1929, in Dawson Springs, Kentucky.
In a poignant reflection of their lifelong bond, she passed away on the same date as her beloved husband, Eugene “Genie” Davis, 31 years later.
Mrs. Davis is survived by her daughters, Kathy Dutton of Salisbury, North Carolina, and Jeanetta Orange of Deweyville, Texas; grandchildren, Michael Orange (Stephanie), Amanda “Mandy” Elms (Andrew), Phillip Orange (Kelli), and Jonathan Dutton (Chrissy); 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Hilda Mitchell and Patricia Mitchell Martin.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents, Edward and Jewel Mitchell; her brothers, Arnold, Kenneth, and Jerry Mitchell; and her sisters, Thelma Hogan and Margaret Noah.
Imogene Davis was a woman of deep faith and quiet strength, remembered lovingly by all who knew her.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, May 29, at Landmark Apostolic Church, 590 Industrial Park Road, Dawson Springs, Ky. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, May 30, at the same location. Rev. Robert Akers, Pastor Rusty Akers, and Rev. Michael Orange will be officiating. Interment to follow at Rosedale Cemetery in Dawson Springs, Kentucky.
