The Annual DeQuincy Community Egg Hunt held on Friday, Apr. 18, at George Thompson Ballpark Field hosted by the City of DeQuincy was well attended. Delighted youngsters of all ages hunted the 2500 eggs to win prizes as well as a chance to see the Easter Bunny.
Other activities included a petting zoo, face painting, games, jump house, cotton candy and treats of all kinds and more given away by local businesses, individuals, churches and clubs.
They were: The Church International; The Preschool Co.; DeQuincy Chamber of Commerce; DeQuincy Memorial Hospital; Theresa Methvin Stanley; TPC of DeQuincy; First Baptist Church; Calcasieu Parish Public Library; DeQuincy Volunteer Fire Department; DeQuincy Railroad Museum; Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home; DeQuincy Methodist Church; Nichols; MaCs Inflatables; Collar & Comb; Big Red Barn Mobile Petting Zoo; Westgate Church; Tasha Lyles and Timmy Hydle.
So many volunteered their time to provide this wonderful free event to the community and bring joy to local families.
