Fred Harget was born May 31, 1955, and passed away Monday, Apr. 7, 2025, at the age of 69.
Fred enjoyed strumming his guitar, singing with his old band, fishing, and playing with his grandchildren. He was always outdoors working on a project. He loved his family more than anything and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Missy Harget; daughters, Amber Humphrey and Sarah Harget; grandchildren, Bryce, Madison, Carter, Garrett, Lyla, Kortlyn, Ava, and Saylor; great-grandchildren, Kase, Kinleigh, Gracelynn, Oaklynn, and Zelynd; sisters, Billie Turner and husband James, and Kitty Harget; nephews, Eric Turner and Chris Turner; mother-in-law, Sondra Mitchell; and honorary grandson, Carlin Barlow.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Dalton Humphrey; parents, Robert and Beverly Harget; father-in-law, Jackson Mitchell; and son-in-law, Ben Humphrey.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m., Wednesday, Apr. 9, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy and continuing from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 10 a.m., Thursday, Apr. 10, at First Baptist Church in Starks. Pastor Ron Butler will be officiating.
Arrangements are being handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
