Janice Hutchinson Morrell was born Oct. 28, 1946, and passed away Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2024, at the age of 77. She loved to sing and was a faithful member of Grace Church in DeRidder. Janice had an unwavering faith in Jesus. More than anything, she loved her family.
She is survived by her children, Randy Hutchinson and wife Debbie, Regina Glenn and fiancé Danny, Christy Hickman and husband Trollis, and Jana Hutchinson and fiancé Garrick; grandchildren, Chad, Chance, Charid, Sarah, Charity, Tyler, Deauntrae, Darian, and Kobe; 13 great-grandchildren; and brother, David Wood.
She was preceded in death by the father of her children, Robert Hutchinson; grandson, Justin Hutchinson; parents, Melvin and Dorothy Wood; and grandmother, Edna “Gam Gam” Hester.
The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 14, at Grace Church in DeRidder. Burial to follow at Smyrna Cemetery in DeRidder.
Arrangements are being handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
