This past Saturday the DeQuincy Lady Tigers softball team took a break from the Railroad Festival fun to handle some quick business with the Basile Lady Bearcats in the first round of the playoffs. The game was played here at Jamie Cooper Memorial Field and the Lady Tigers went into this game as the 13 seed.

DeQuincy wasted no time at the plate as they scored 2 runs in the first inning on their way to a 19-4 run rule victory over Basile.

The bats were on fire for DeQuincy with 20 hits!

Emily Cooley went 2-5 with an RBI, Maddie Vinatieri went 3-4 with 3 RBIs, Addli Scott went 4-4 with 2 RBIs, Aubree Royer went 2-4 with 3 RBIs, Bryah LeDay went 2-4 with 3 RBIs, Miley Moore went 2-4 with 3 RBIs, Kamryn Mitchell went 2-3 with 3 RBIs, Camryn Richardson went 1-4, and Kayden Whotte went 2-2.

The girls did not get celebrate Senior Night earlier in the week due to the Grand Lake game being canceled because of the weather. They celebrated following the playoff game. We want to thank our three Seniors, Miley Moore, Kamryn Mitchell, and Camryn Richardson, for all of their hard work, blood, sweat, and tears that they have put into the program the past four years!

The Lady Tigers will travel to Olla on Tuesday to face the 4th seeded LaSalle Lady Tigers at 5 p.m.

We highly encourage everyone if you’re not busy to please take the drive up to Olla and support our Lady Tigers!
