George Lonis Brown was born Sept. 8, 1938, in Raymond, Wash. and passed away Monday, Apr. 8, 2024, at the age of 85. George spent his life as a boat captain, working not only along the Gulf Coast, but around the world.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Beverly Shockley Brown; sons, Joe Brown and Nik Ray Brown and wife Megan; daughters, April Davis, and Laura Stovall and husband Butch; along with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Ray E. Brown Jr.; and sister, Kathleen Schmidt.
He was preceded in death by his son, Dale; parents, Ervin Ray and Avis Mae Brown; and sister, Janice.
The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Apr. 13, at Magnolia Baptist Church, 1922 Magnolia Church Rd., Ragley. Interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery, Ragley.
Arrangements are being handled by Riley Smtih & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
