Kenneth Lawrence Harris, 64, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 22, 2024 in his residence.
He was a native of DeQuincy and had been a resident of Anacoco for the last 20 years, moving from Pensacola, Florida. He was an honor graduate of DeQuincy High School and had attended Louisiana State University and McNeese State University before graduating from barber college. Kenneth worked for many years as a cosmetologist. He was a member of an LSU tailgating group in Anacoco and he enjoyed landscaping, interior design, watching LSU football, and spending time with his family and his dog.
Survivors include his mother, June Alston; his sister-in-law, Regina Ashworth; his nieces, Ginny Harris and Christy Boykin; nephew, Herman Harris, Jr., all of DeQuincy; and his beloved dog, Chico.
He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Harris; and a brother, Herman Harris, Sr.
A graveside service was be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27, in Masonic Cemetery in DeQuincy. Don H. Stracner officiated.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to one’s favorite charity.
