Dakota Harris was born May 6, 1982 and passed away Saturday, Feb. 17, 2024 at the age of 41. He enjoyed watching movies, fishing, and hanging out with his friends. Dakota was the first great-grandson to Bill and Mertie Schysm. He will be loved and greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his father, Walter Harris; brothers, Jacob and Marvin Harris; aunts and uncles, Dennis and Claudia Harris, Steve Schysm, Tammy and Rev. Randall Martin.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lisa Harris; maternal grandparents, Marvin and Marcene Schysm; and paternal grandparents, Walter and Betty Harris; uncles, Billy Ray Harris and Michael Schysm; great-grandparents, Bill and Mertie Schysm.
The family received friends from 5-8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 19, with the funeral service at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy. Rev. Randall Martin officiated. Interment followed at Good Hope Cemetery in Singer.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
