CrossPoint purchases building

Six years ago Cross Point Community Church started on a journey full of unknowns. Not sure what it would look like or where it would take them.

This process has led them through so many different milestone moments: From a tool shed; to the old Bartrellas cafe space downtown; from there to DeQuincy Middle School’s cafeteria which allowed them to grow and establish their kids ministry and really start to develop their ministry overall. Next, they had the opportunity to spend a summer with Northside Baptist Church.

Then, in September of 2019, they stepped into a new path that would inevitably be their greatest blessing so far, the Methodist Church of DeQuincy.

Then in 2023 conversations began about Cross Point moving on and potentially purchasing the old Eastern Heights building. One step away from moving forward into that deal, the leadership at the Methodist Church of DeQuincy reached out and invited them into a conversation that would be a blessing to both.

On Jan. 15, after a year of prayer, deliberation, and dependance on God, Cross Point officially purchased and took ownership of the church property on 301 E Center St.
