Clarence Shoemake

Clarence Joseph Shoemake was born Aug. 30, 1941, and passed away Friday, Jan. 12, 2024, at the age of 82.

He is survived by his wife, Anita Shoemake; children, Clarence Shoemake Jr. and wife Amanda and Joseph Shoemake and partner Alexis Allemang, Teleca Hansen and husband Chip, and Denita “Dee” Young and husband Chad; grandchildren, Jessica Hightower and husband Daniel, Sasha Rebert, Meleca Guerrero, Samuel Guerrero and wife Raelynn, Adam Guerrero, Caitlin Mouton and partner Dylan Perez, Christopher Mouton and wife Katelyn, Riannon Young and partner Russell Dyke, Kayson Rossetter, Peyton Shoemake, Alayna Shoemake, Evalynn Allemang, Lanum Bayard, and Joyce Shoemake; great-grandchildren, Caleb Hightower, Alexis Hightower, Connor Mouton, Kollyns Mouton, Liliana Guerrero, Ezra Guerrero, Angel Guerrero, Cheyenne Clark, and Kaylee Guerrero; great-great-granddaughter, Kamilla Kaye; siblings, Ernest Lee “Red” Shoemake and Delories Shoemake; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Dorothy Guerrero; parents, Fred and Eula Shoemake; and brothers, Thomas Shoemake and Billy B. Shoemake.

The family received friends from 4-6 p.m. with the service following at 6 p.m., Monday, Jan. 15, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy. Graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 17, at Southwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Jennings.

Arrangements are being handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
