Larry Ashford was born Aug. 21, 1946, and passed away Sunday, Dec. 3, 2023, at the age of 77.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene Ashford; children, Monica Beaty and husband Troy, Samantha Smith and husband Matt, Robby Wells, and Ron Wells and wife Allie; grandchildren, Lauren, Kaylie, Danielle, Cali, and Carsten; great-grandchildren, Adilyn, Anistyn, Bennett, and Bryton; siblings, Lois Hatten and husband Roy, Freida Blackwell, Cheryl McDaniel, Lonnie Ashford, and Mike Ashford.
He was preceded in death by his grandchildren, Cecili Young and Landon Wells; parents, Johnnie Ashford and Edith Ashford; sister, Carolyn Ashford; and brothers, Clarence Ashford and Emmett Ashford.
The family received friends from 9:30-10 a.m. with a 10 a.m. funeral service on Thursday, Dec. 7, at Caney Creek Apostolic Tabernacle in Conroe, Texas. A graveside service was held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 8, at Houston National Cemetery in Houston, Texas.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
