Jackie Linton Pierce was born Feb. 15, 1942 and passed away Saturday, Nov. 25, 2023, at the age of 81.
He is survived by his children, Jackie Renee Doyle and husband Brian, and John Britton Pierce and wife Beverly; grandchildren, April Snyder and husband Seth, Brandon Doyle and partner Amie Rosalis, Steven Browning and wife Kristy, and Keith Wayne Browning II and wife Lisa; great-grandchildren, Allie, Hunter, Paxton, Fisher, Axton, Kayti, Marshall, and Kyle; and siblings, James Drew Pierce and Carolyn Pierce Burnett.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virgie “Cooter” Pierce; parents, Thomas Alton Pierce and Pearl Martin Pierce; and siblings, Roland Roscue Pierce, Avery J. Pierce, Jimmy Pierce, Sam Pierce, Maxine Pierce Long, Josephine Pierce Moore, Dolphine Pierce McClain, Nancy Pierce Thomas, and Jean Pierce Bryant.
Pallbearers were Kevin Pierce, Keith Wayne Browning II, Seth Snyder, Guy Snyder, Dwight “Monkey” Stains, and George Allen Boyer.
Honorary pallbearers were Brandon Doyle and Hunter Snyder.
The family received friends from 5-8 p.m., Monday, Nov. 27, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home. Funeral service was held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2023, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home. Rev. Jerry Hext and Rev. Mark Schultz officiated. Interment followed at Hyatt Cemetery in Fields.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
