High School
Bella Alvarez is Merryville High School’s 12th Grade Student of the Year.
Alvarez is the 17 year old daughter of Carla Mitchell and the granddaughter of Linda Mitchell and the late Truitt Mitchell.
She enjoys playing basketball for the Lady Panthers varsity team and she loves to read. Alvarez plans to pursue a degree in dietetics and nutritional sciences from Stephen F. Austin University after graduation.
Middle School
Merryville High School 8th Grade Student of the Year winner is Brynn Beard.
She is the 13 year old daughter of Lance and Holly Beard. Her favorite subject in school is English Language Arts. She is the president of the Junior BETA Club and a member of First Baptist Church in Merryville. She enjoys playing travel softball for the Stars & Stripes. Beard aspires to become a veterinarian in the future.
Elementary School
Fifth Grade Student of the Year winner at Merryville High School is Daisy Jamerson.
She is the 10 year old daughter of Markcus Jamerson and Carly McDonald.
She is a member of Junior BETA Club. Her favorite subject is English Language Arts and her favorite pastime is playing basketball. In the future, Jamerson wants to become a teacher.
