Tigers blank Vinton 35-0

DeQuincy and their longest standing rival the Vinton Lions met for a Thursday night clash. It turned out to be a one sided affair as DeQuincy took the Victory 35-0. It was the Tigers second straight victory both by shutouts.

DeQuincy wasted no time as they jumped out to the quick 7-0 lead as Carson Rainwater found Quentin Pharris on a 26 yard pass and catch for the touchdown. Cohen Cormier added the PAT.

In the second quarter Rainwater found Pharris once again on a 36 yard touchdown.

The Tigers were not finished as Carson Rainwater tossed his third touchdown of the night this time on the 18 yard catch by Koby Poole. Cohen Cormier added successful the PAT after both touchdowns to put DeQuincy up 21-0 at halftime.

After halftime the rushing game decided they wanted to get in on the scoring action as Wyatt LeVergne scored from 21 yards out to put the Tigers up 28-0 as Cormier added the PAT. In the fourth quarter Shiloh Cotlong got in on the scoring action with a 3 yard touchdown run. Cormier added the successful PAT to close out the games scoring.

The Tigers had a good night through the air and on the ground. The place kicked was perfect on the night going 5 for 5.

Carson Rainwater was 10 for 17 and 169 yards passing.

On the receiving end was Quentin Pharris with 5 catches for 93 yards and 2 touchdowns. Coby Poole and Diron Valentine both had 2 catches for 32 yards. Poole had one touchdown catch. MJ Clark had one catch for 12 yards.

Rushing totals for the game were led by Wyatt LeVergne with 144 yards on 22 Carries, Quentin Pharris added 41 yards rushing, Koby Poole 32 and Shiloh Cotlong 25 yards.

Defensively the Tigers were led by Quentin Pharris with 5 tackles. Cameron Joyce added 4, DaCorius added 4 tackles and Hazy Hext also had 4 tackles on the night.

Overall the Tigers had a good night. Offense, defense and special teams were all clicking which led to the 35-0 Victory.

Next up for the Tigers is the annual homecoming game. It will take place this Coming Friday night at Tiger Stadium against the Welsh Greyhounds. Welsh has a good ball club so this should be a good game. Game time is 7 pm. Expect a big crowd as the alumni will be in town celebrating their reunion years. Go
