Funeral services will be held Saturday, Oct. 14, at 1 p.m. Brushy Creek Baptist Church, 125 Brushy Creek Cemetery Rd., Bancroft, for James. M. Durham, age 86, who passed away Thursday, Oct. 5, 2023 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.
Interment will be in Brushy Creek Baptist Cemetery. Pastor Mike Streams will officiate at the services.
Mr. Durham was born on Jan. 20, 1937 to the late Robert Lucious Durham and the former Lucy Elizabeth Whitman in Bancroft, having been a resident of Lafayette. He retired with Scurlock Permian Corporation.
Survivors include one son, James Terry Durham and his wife, Trudy, of Houston, Texas; one daughter, Rhonda Brasseaux and her fiancé, Damon Bowers, of Lafayette; five grandchildren, Kevin Brasseaux, Chance Arceneaux and his girlfriend, Katie Courville, Kristin Durham Carter and her husband, Eric, Lindsey Durham-Pearce and her husband, Brian, and Jamie Durham Onda and her husband, Ben; nine great-grandchildren, Kasey Durham and her boyfriend, Cole, Presley Carter, Brady Pearce, Liam Norris, Caleb Carter, Stella Carter, Grayson Onda, Lennon Onda, and Ryver Richard; and one sister, Mary Alice Watson of Galveston, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-one years, Betty Ruth McDonald Durham; his parents, Robert L. Durham and the former Lucy E. Whitman; one brother, Roy Durham; and one sister, Iva Lee Gore.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Brushy Creek Baptist Church from 11 a.m. Saturday until service time on Saturday.
