DeQuincy drops second game to Loreauville

The DeQuincy Tigers hosted the Loreauville Tigers Friday night at Tiger Stadium. In a low scoring affair the Loreauville Tigers left with a 13-0 victory, scoring just one touchdown and two field goals.

The DeQuincy Tigers had a couple good drives but just couldn’t get into the endzone.

DeQuincy had 57 yards rushing on the night against a big Loreauville front and had 114 yards passing.

Wyatt LaVergne led the Tigers with 49 yards while Nigile Ceaser chipped in 9 yards on the ground.

Carson Rainwater had 81 yards passing on 9 of 21 attempts. Rainwater had an injury right before the half and Turner Rodriguez took over in the second half and he was 6 for 13 with 33 yards. The two quarterbacks combined for 5 interceptions.

A trio of receivers had 4 receptions each with Quentin Pharris 32 yards, Diron Valentine 39 yards and Mikah Kerlegan 17 yards adding to DeQuincys total.

Defensively the Tigers got after the high powered offense of Loreauville, sacking the quarterback 4 times. Hayz Hext, DaCorius Griffin, Quentin Pharris and Cameron Joyce each getting to the quarterback.

Hayz Hext led all Tiger Defenders with 8 tackles. DaCorius Griffin had 5 tackles while Quentin Pharris had 4. Clifford Joyce, Wyatt LaVergne and Kheidren LeDay each added 3 tackles to the Tiger total.

Next up for the Tigers a home game Friday night against arguably their biggest Rivals in the South Beauregard Knights. South Beauregard is 1-1 on the year. The loss to DeRidder and best Rosepine.
