On Thursday, Aug. 31, it was reported to the DeQuincy Police Dept. that person(s) unknown had defaced several of the new benches that had been donated to the walking path. Sgt. Jeromy Brady and Officer Josh Mccoy were dispatched to the scene.
The benches had symbols stenciled on them and a pink symbol. The public should be aware that defacing city property is a crime. If anyone has any information pertaining to this incident, please contact the DQPD at 337-786-4000. It is suspected that this defacing could be part of a scavenger hunt scenario.
These benches were just recently donated to the walking path. Thank you for any help in this matter. Photos of the defacing are attached to this police beat.
