Tigers take victory in jamboree game

The DeQuincy Tigers kicked off the 2023 season by participating in the Sulphur Jamboree. The Tigers took on the Rosepine Eagles on Friday, Aug. 25.

The Tigers took the 7-0 victory over the Eagles. The Tigers scored on a first quarter one yard touchdown pass from Carson Rainwater to Quentin Pharris. Nolan Schrader tacked on the extra point to put the Tigers up 7-0. That would be all the scoring the Tigers would need on this night as the Defense stood strong and kept Rosepine off the endzone all night.

Offensively Wyatt LeVergne led the rushing attack with 34 yards. Nigile Ceaser added 28 yards rushing for the Tigers.

Carson Rainwater completed 6 passes out of 15 attempts for 16 yards and 1 touchdown.

Quentin Pharris was the leading receiver catching all 6 passes.

Defensively for the Tigers DaCorius Griffin led the way with 1 sack and 6 total tackles.

M.J. Clark was right behind him with 1 sack and 4 total tackles.

Nigile Ceaser and Wyatt LaVergne each chipped in 4 tackles.

Next up for the Tigers, the season gets kicked off for real as the regular season starts with a Thursday night 7 p.m. matchup on the road with the Westlake Rams.
