James Allen Rainwater was born Nov. 17, 1952, and passed away Friday, Aug. 11, 2023, at the age of 70.
James enjoyed fishing, watching western movies, fixing things, working on cars, and hunting with his brother, Richard.
He is survived by his son, James Paul Rainwater and wife, Ashley; daughter, Julie Faye Rainwater; grandchildren, Aspen Rainwater, Alyssa Martinez, Anthony Martinez, and Arikah Martinez; sisters, Carolyn Thompson and husband, Jeff, and Laura Sims and husband, Dez; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mack Rainwater and Lois Hydle Rainwater; brothers, Richard and Darryl Rainwater; and sister, Diane Alston.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 18, and continues from 9 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy. Rev. Mike Streams will officiate. Interment will follow at Hyatt Cemetery in Fields.
Arrangements are being handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
