Rotary Governor to speak July 27

The Official Rotary Governor Visit with Ken Firmin, District Governor 2023-24 District 6200 is set for Thursday, July 27, at 7:30 a.m. at DeQuincy United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, 301 E Center St.

Firmin joined the Rotary Club of East Ascension in 2004 and immediately felt a sense of belonging with so many like-minded individuals. Becoming active right away, he served as Serjeant-at-Arms in his first full year of membership and, later, was selected as Rotarian of the Year in 2008. That same year he was asked to become the Club’s VP which put him in line to become Club President in 2010. He was honored to receive the Life Achievement Award from his club in 2015.

With District 6200, Firmin served as an Assistant District Governor from 2012-15 and has served on the District Friendship Exchange Commitee as Co-Chair and as a member of the District Nominating Commitee. Firmin and his wife Judy have atended every District Conference, except one, since 2005 and ten Rotary International Conventions. They look forward to atending many more.

The Firmins have been married for 41 years and have five children and eight grandchildren. They are avid supporters of The Rotary Foundation and its programs and are Major Donors. He is also a member of the Paul Harris Society and Polio Plus Society.
