Rev. James Thompson was born Feb. 17, 1948 and passed away Saturday, June 10, 2023 at the age of 75. He will be forever loved and greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary “Burge” Thompson of DeQuincy; one son, Lesley Thompson and daughter, Butter Thompson, of Sulphur; one daughter Jami Thompson and husband, Robert “AJ”, of Sulphur; along with one grandson, Matthew Statum and wife, Paige, of DeQuincy; four granddaughters, Charity Statum and husband, Channing Butler, of DeQuincy; Faith Heekin, Hope Heekin, Chloe Thompson, of Sulphur; one great-grandson, Madden Butler, of DeQuincy; three great-granddaughters, Isabella Statum, Aubri Statum, and Mylee Statum (Smiley Jo), of DeQuincy.
A private burial will be held at Riley Smith Memorial Park in DeQuincy.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith and Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
