CITY OF DEQUINCY
ORDINANCE NO. 950
AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE EMPLOYEE HANDBOOK, POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
WHEREAS, the City of DeQuincy desires to amend its Employee Handbook, Policies and Procedures as follows:
THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of DeQuincy, in legal session convened, amend the Employee Handbook, Policies and Procedures as follows:
ADDENDUM B
A: USE OF CITY VEHICLES
a. As per IRS Publication 15-B, all city employee vehicles shall be used by city personnel only. No other passengers other than city employees or inmates shall be transported.
Exception: City employees using city vehicles for city functions, such as conferences or other city social functions, with approval from their supervisor, can transport a family member or another non city employee to the function.
b. City vehicles can not be used for personal use, nor can they be used to go to and from a secondary job. Failure to comply can result in forfeiting your right to drive a city vehicle.
c. Any employee using a city vehicle to commute to and from work will be charged $1.50 each way ($3.00 daily), which will be deducted from their payroll check.
Exception: This will not apply to the police department or fire department.
B. CITY INMATES
a. Inmate duties shall consist of municipal and community work only. There shall be no use of inmates on personal property.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that all other parts and provisions in the Employee Handbook, Policies and Procedures shall remain in full force and effect.
Said Ordinance having been introduced on the 10th day of April 2023 and Ordinance considered, on motion by Jim Smith, seconded by Scott Wylie to adopt the Ordinance. A record vote was taken, and the following result was had:

ABSENT: 0
This Ordinance was declared duly adopted this 8th day of May 2023.
