Lydia Hodges Anderson, 100, died Wednesday, May 3, 2023 in Lake Charles.
She was born in Ragley. After graduating from Ragley High School, she went to work as a secretary at the Army Air Corp Training Base in Lake Charles during World War II. In the post war years, she was a secretary contracted to do work with PPG. She lived in Lake Charles and attended Apostolic Temple Church.
She is survived by her children, Sondra G. “Sunny” Bendfeldt and her husband Juan, and son J. Russell Anderson and his wife, Paula; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband, Joe M. Anderson; parents, F.A. and Beulah Hodges; an infant brother, one sister and two brothers.
A memorial service was held Saturday, May 6 at Apostolic Temple in Lake Charles. Interment followed at Magnolia Cemetery in Ragley, under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
