Singer vs. Hathaway

Singer Hornets Royer throws no-hitter to defeat Hathaway.

Kolton Royer was brilliant on the mound Friday, as Royer threw a no-hitter to lead Singer past Hathaway 3-1. The pitching was strong on both sides. Royer struck out 15, while Hathaway pitchers sat down seven. Singer got things started in the first inning when Cain Chambers ground out, scoring two runs. Royer led things off on the pitcher’s mound. The hurler allowed zero hits and one run over seven innings, striking out 15. Carson Redlich was on the mound for Hathaway. The hurler allowed zero hits and three runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out four. Landon Seilhan threw two and a third innings in relief.

Gavin Wright went 1-for-3 at the plate to lead Singer in hits.

Singer vs. Lake Arthur

Singer takes a tough blow from Lake Arthur.

Singer had trouble keeping up with Lake Arthur in an 8-0 loss on Saturday. One bright spot for Singer was a single by Kolten Royer in the fifth inning.

Caston Perkins started the game for Singer Hornets Varsity. The hurler surrendered four runs on seven hits over five innings, striking out six and walking zero.

Kohlson Moore threw two innings in relief.

Moore and Royer each managed one hit to lead Singer.

Singer vs. Vinton

Singer can’t quite erase 5-run deficit in loss to Vinton.

Singer’s effort to come back from down five runs in the first inning came up just short, as they fell 7-5 to Vinton on Saturday. Singer put up five runs in the failed comeback. Kolten Royer, Cain Chambers, and Gavin Wright powered the rally with RBIs. Singer couldn’t keep up with Vinton.

Bryce Taylor led things off on the hill for the Vinton Lions. The bulldog went two and two-thirds innings, allowing four runs on three hits and striking out three.

Dylan Conner started the game for Singer. The hurler surrendered seven runs on six hits over seven innings, striking out one. Singer collected seven hits on the day. Kohlson Moore and Dawson Roebuck each had two hits for Singer. Vinton Lions racked up six hits on the day. Baylor Smith and Laird each had multiple hits for Vinton.
