Russell “Dinkus” Bartholamew, Jr. was born Mar. 30, 1957, and passed away Tuesday, Mar. 21, 2023.
ussell enjoyed spending his time outdoors, fishing, and watching westerns. Most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially all of his nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his siblings, Robert Bartholamew, Jr. and wife, Katina, Morgan Bartholamew and wife, Carolyn, Jeanne Swinney and husband, David, Paula Landreneau and husband, Bob; nieces and nephews, Libby Rodgers and husband, Keith, Charity Stampley and husband, Troy, Bryan Bartholamew, Morgan Bartholamew, Jr. and wife, Kathy; great nieces and nephews, Briynna, Loren, Hailey, Ricky, Marshall, Haidon, Isabella, Christian, Ashton, Tanner, and Johnnie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Elvis Bartholamew, Sr. and Pauline Johnson; niece, Misty Gale Buckley; great nieces, Kayla Paige Bartholamew and Audrey Gale Bartholamew.
The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice and a special thank you to the nurse, Ms. Dena and aid, Ms. Chelsea.
The family received friends from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Thursday, Mar. 23, with the funeral service beginning at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 128 Hwy. 109 S, Starks. Pastor Ron Butler, Bro Marshall Stephenson, and Bro. David Millner officiated. Interment followed at Doyle Cemetery in Starks.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
