Derrick Ware Young, 46, of Ragley died Thursday, March 23, 2023 in a New Orleans hospital.
Dee, Pete, or Boots, as he was known, was born in Lake Charles and lived most of his life in Ragley. He attended South Beauregard High School and worked as a heavy-duty equipment operator for the pipelines.
He is survived by his daughter, Gracie Brooke Young of Kinder; parents, Donald “Don” and Gloria Young; sister, Donna Holmes-Roy; brothers, Clint Young and Wesley Young, all of Ragley; mother of his child and first wife, Ashley Andrus.
His funeral service was held Monday, Mar. 27, at Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff. Ricky Farque officiated. Burial followed in Magnolia Cemetery in Ragley.
