Thomas Edward Kennedy was born Feb. 20, 1948, and passed away Monday, Mar. 13, 2023, at the age of 75. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. After 32 years, he retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. Thomas was a faithful, lifelong member of The Sanctuary church and served on the board as a deacon for 27 years.
He is survived by his wife, Yolanda Kennedy; daughters, Miklyn Kennedy and Ashley Kennedy; brother, Robert Kennedy and wife, Carol, Timothy Harvey; sister, Tammy Kennedy and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Kennedy, Sr.; mother, Eleanor Todd; brothers, James Kennedy, Jr. and Teddy Kennedy; sisters Toni Westerman and Debra Hagler.
The family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Mar. 21, at The Sanctuary with a 7 p.m. funeral service. Graveside service will be held 1:15 p.m., Wednesday, Mar. 22, at Houston National Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
