DeQuincy Police Dept. received new state of the art load bearing ballistic vests. This type of vest takes the load off an officer’s hips reducing possible back injuries and allows him to maneuver more easily with all his equipment.
Other nearby police departments had already gone to this type vest and their officers spoke highly of its utility. Mayor Riley Smith and Chief Roy Williams’ goal is to make sure our officers have the best equipment to accomplish their missions.
