DeQuincy vs. Kountze

DeQuincy Tigers lost the lead late in a 3-2 defeat to Kountze on Thursday. The game was tied at two with Kountze batting in the top of the sixth when Kolby Bumstead singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Kountze pitchers struck out 15, while DeQuincy Tigers sat down nine.

Jack Hutchison was the winning pitcher for Kountze. The fireballer lasted five and a third innings, allowing three hits and two runs while striking out 12. Aaron Bumstead threw one and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Carson Rainwater took the loss for DeQuincy Tigers. The righthander lasted four and a third innings, allowing two hits and two runs while striking out five.

Reese Ashworth led DeQuincy Tigers with three hits in four at bats. DeQuincy tore up the base paths, as three players stole at least two bases. Hayz Hext led the way with three.

DeQuincy vs. Highland B.C.

Turner Rodriquez didn’t allow a single run against Highland Baptist Christian, throwing a complete game shutout and leading DeQuincy Tigers to a 10-0 victory on Friday.

DeQuincy got on the board in the first inning. Reese Ashworth hit a solo homer.

DeQuincy notched three runs in the fifth inning. The offensive onslaught by DeQuincy Tigers was led by Ashworth and Sammy Maddox, who each had RBIs in the inning.

Rodriquez got the win for DeQuincy Tigers. The pitcher allowed three hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out four.

DeQuincy Tigers launched one home run on the day. Ashworth had a homer in the first inning.

DeQuincy Tigers collected ten hits on the day. Ashworth, Maddox, and Rahley Royer all collected multiple hits for DeQuincy Tigers. Ashworth went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead DeQuincy in hits. DeQuincy Tigers stole nine bases during the game as three players stole more than one. Hayz Hext led the way with three.

DeQuincy Tigers didn’t commit a single error in the field. Andrew Dowden had four chances in the field, the most on the team.

DeQuincy vs. Merryville

The DeQuincy Tigers defeated Merryville 12-0 on Saturday as three pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Hunter Cox struck out Remington Coody to finish off the game.

DeQuincy Tigers secured the victory thanks to 11 runs in the first inning. DeQuincy Tigers offense in the inning was led by Sammy Maddox, Carson Rainwater, Quentin Pharris, Caden Keel, Reese Ashworth, and Rainwater, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

DeQuincy fired up the offense in the first inning, when Maddox doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.
A single by Jeramiah Robinson in the fourth inning was a positive for Merryville.

Maddox led DeQuincy to victory on the pitcher’s mound. The righthander allowed zero hits and zero runs over one inning, walking zero. Keel and Cox entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Coody took the loss for Merryville. Coody allowed eight hits and 11 runs over two-thirds of an inning.

DeQuincy launched one home run on the day. Ashworth went yard in the first inning.

DeQuincy Tigers tallied ten hits in the game. Rainwater and Maddox had two hits to lead DeQuincy Tigers.

DeQuincy Tigers was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Andrew Dowden had the most chances in the field with five.

Robinson went 1-for-2 at the plate to lead Merryville in hits.

DeQuincy vs. Westlake

DeQuincy Tigers defeated Westlake 4-0 on Tuesday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout.

Turner Rodriguez got a fly out from Jace Dawson to finish off the game.

Reese Ashworth got the win for DeQuincy. The pitcher lasted six and two-thirds innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out 14. Rodriguez threw one-third of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Hadley Hardesty took the loss for Westlake. The bulldog surrendered three runs on two hits over three innings, striking out four.

DeQuincy Tigers tallied one home run on the day. Ashworth had a four bagger in the third inning.

Matthew VanSlyke, Sammy Maddox, and Ashworth each managed one hit to lead DeQuincy Tigers.

DeQuincy Tigers was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Andrew Dowden made the most plays with 13.
