Rosedown Rockers to ‘rock out’ at Railroad Fest

The Rosedown Rockers will be performing Saturday, Apr. 8, at 4-5:30 p.m. during the 2023 Louisiana Railroad Days Festival.

Rosedown Rockers is a seven piece variety band based out of Lake Charles. However, members hail from all over southwest Louisiana and Texas. Oakdale, Lake Arthur, Port Arthur, Starks, Sulphur, and Lake Charles are all currently home.

The Rockers started several years ago, with the founding members meeting online at a forum connecting local musicians. They spent the first year building their song repertoire and finding the right mix of musicians (that took some time and effort). The group now performs on a regular basis in a variety of venues thoughout the region. Current gigs include festivals, clubs, private parties, and special events of all types. The band’s name comes from the fact that their regular rehearsal sessions are at Dr. Young’s house on Rosedown Dr. in Lake Charles.

Their musical specialty is a wide variety of genres, including 60s, 70s, and 80s Rock, Pop, Soul, R&B, Funk, and Country.

This truly unique mix of talented musicians includes the dynamic duo of Monica Bonin and Matt Marcantel on lead vocals, the phenomenal father and son team of Clint and Zack Faulk on keyboards and saxophone, Danny Trahan is lead guitarist extraordinaire, and Bill Godley is a bass guitarist who has toured the world with many famous musicians. Dr. Kevin Young, a cardiologist at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital, rounds out the group on drums.
