DeQuincy Lady Tigers defeated Kinder Yellow Jackets 6-5 on Saturday after taking the lead late in the game. The game was tied at five with DeQuincy Lady Tigers batting in the bottom of the sixth when Emily Cooley grounded out, scoring one run.

DeQuincy Lady Tigers opened up scoring in the first inning. Gabby Lafferty drove in two when Lafferty tripled.

Lafferty led the DeQuincy Lady Tigers Varsity to victory in the circle. The pitcher lasted seven innings, allowing 13 hits and five runs while striking out nine.

Brianna Fontenot took the loss for Kinder Varsity Yellow Jackets. The pitcher allowed six hits and six runs over six innings, striking out three and walking one.

Lafferty, Cooley, Hannah Mire, Baileigh Kellogg, Ashlyn Bullitt, and Kamryn Mitchell each collected one hit to lead the DeQuincy Lady Tigers.

Kinder Varsity Yellow Jackets totaled 13 hits in the game. Sam Dupont, Emily Young, Ellie Buller, and Brianna Fontenot all had multiple hits for Kinder Yellow Jackets.

DeQuincy Lady Tigers stayed in it until the end, but Bell City Lady Bruins pulled away late in a 5-4 victory on Saturday. The game was tied at four with Bell City Lady Bruins batting in the top of the seventh when Ryann Landry doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.

DeQuincy Lady Tigers lost despite out-hitting Bell City Lady Bruins eight to six.

Gabby Lafferty took the loss for Lady Tigers Lafferty surrendered five runs on six hits over seven innings, striking out six and walking one.

DeQuincy Lady Tigers socked one home run on the day. Cheyenne Harrison had a dinger in the sixth inning.

DeQuincy Lady Tigers racked up eight hits on the day. Adah Doucet 3 hits and Harrison 2 hits led the DeQuincy Lady Tigers at the plate.
