DeQuincy baseball report

DeQuincy/Pickering

DeQuincy Tigers defeated Pickering 14-0 on Monday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout.

DeQuincy secured the victory thanks to eight runs in the fifth inning. The offensive onslaught by DeQuincy was led by Caden Keel, Sammy Maddox, and Matthew VanSlyke.

DeQuincy got things started in the first inning when Maddox homered on a 2-0 count, scoring two runs.
DeQuincy notched eight runs in the fifth inning. Maddox, VanSlyke, Keel, and Hunter Cox each had RBIs in the big inning.

Turner Rodriquez pitched DeQuincy to the victory. The righthander lasted three and two-thirds innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out five. Keel threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

DeQuincy launched two home runs on the day. Keel had a four bagger in the fifth inning. Maddox went for the long ball in the first inning.

DeQuincy scattered 11 hits in the game. VanSlyke and Maddox each collected three hits to lead DeQuincy. Hayz Hext led DeQuincy Tigers with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with eight stolen bases. DeQuincy Tigers didn’t commit a single error in the field. Reese Ashworth had five chances in the field, the most on the team.

DeQuincy/Iowa

Both teams were strong on the hill on Thursday, but Iowa was just a little bit stronger at the plate in a victory over DeQuincy on Thursday. Reese Ashworth started the game for DeQuincy Tigers and recorded 15 outs.

A single by Andrew Dowden in the second inning was a positive for the Tigers.

Ashworth took the loss for DeQuincy Tigers. Ashworth lasted five innings, allowing three hits and two runs while striking out six.

Caden Keel, Keagan Carter, and Dowden each collected one hit to lead DeQuincy Tigers.

DeQuincy/Rosepine

DeQuincy fell 9-4 to Rosepine on Friday despite out-hitting them nine to five.

DeQuincy knotted the game up at two in the bottom of the third inning, when Carson Rainwater’s sac fly scored one run for DeQuincy Tigers.

Rosepine scored three runs in the seventh inning.

Rainwater took the loss for DeQuincy Tigers. The righty went three innings, allowing three runs on two hits and striking out three.

DeQuincy had nine hits in the game. Reese Ashworth had 3 hits while Sammy Maddox, and Matthew VanSlyke both had two hits each.

DeQuincy/Eunice

DeQuincy watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 6-3 loss to Eunice on Saturday. Eunice scored on a error in the first inning and a error in the second inning.

DeQuincy notched three runs in the third inning. The offensive onslaught by DeQuincy was led by Reese Ashworth and Sammy Maddox, who both drove in runs.

Maddox took the loss for DeQuincy. The righthander went seven innings, allowing six runs on four hits and striking out two.

DeQuincy Tigers launched one home run on the day. Maddox went for the long ball in the third inning.
Matthew VanSlyke, Maddox, and Ashworth each collected one hit to lead DeQuincy Tigers.
