Dannie Edward Fontenot, 69, died on Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2023. He was a longtime resident of Ragley.
He was a graduate of Sam Houston High School. He began his career in construction with R.E. Heidt Construction Company. He established Asphalt Associates, Inc. where he was owner and manager for 45 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Annie (Ewing) Fontenot; and two sisters.
He was survived by his wife, Patricia Hollier Fontenot; his children, Charles (Alanna) Fontenot, Amanda (Brant) Smith, Lori (Brock) Israel; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and siblings, Joyce Canter and Keith Fontenot.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 17, at St. Theodore Catholic Church in Moss Bluff officiated by Father Jeff Starkovich. Burial followed the service at Consolata Cemetery in Lake Charles.
