Charles “Charlie” Dixson was born on Dec. 16, 1936, and passed away on Thursday, Jan. 26, 2023. He was a welder and a very hard worker. He took his family on numerous vacations and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his sons, Derwin Dixson and wife, Jennifer, Damon Dixson and wife, Victoria, and Darrin Dixson; daughter, Sharlene Cruz; grandchildren, Dylan Dixson, Amber Dixson, Grace Dixson, and Kylee Cruz; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Dixson.
The family received friends from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 30, at First Baptist Church, Deweyville, Texas.
A visitation was held from 9-10 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 31, with the funeral service beginning at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Deweyville, Texas. Pastor Damon Bickham officiated. A private interment followed at Village Mills Cemetery in Village Mills, Texas.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. 4th Street, DeQuincy.
