John Bowman

John “Cody” Bowman was born Mar. 26, 1992, and passed away Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2023, at the age of 30.

Cody loved the outdoors. Hunting, fishing, and mud riding were his hobbies. Cody was an amazing father. His wife and children were his world. Anyone who met Cody couldn’t help but love him. He was a Christian and his family will forever remember his smiles, jokes, and great personality.

He is survived by his wife, Amy Bowman; children, Maci and Carter Bowman; parents, Johnny and Richelle Bowman; sister, Lindsay Layfield and husband, Daniel; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Scott and Denise Eaves; grandparents, Joyce Brantley, John and Evelyn Bowman, Bill Eaves, and Annie Cormier; along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews; and an abundance of friends.

The family received friends from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 6, at First United Pentecostal Church of DeQuincy. Visitation continued from 9-11 a.m. with the funeral service following at 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 7, at First United Pentecostal Church of DeQuincy. Rev. Todd Keel, former pastor of Singer Baptist Church, officiated. Interment followed at Newlin Cemetery in Singer.

Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. 4th Street, DeQuincy.
