Barry O’Neil Perkins, 68, was born Nov. 3, 1954, and passed away Friday, Jan. 6, 2023. He enjoyed online shopping, genealogy, mechanic work, and he was an avid reader. Barry was a history buff, and helped with the Starks Historical Society and the Starks Mayhaw Festival. Barry was a faithful member of First Pentecostal Church of Starks and recently moved to Hargrove Bible Baptist of DeQuincy. He loved his family more than anything and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Mollie Dale Perkins; sons, Jerry Phillips and wife, Valerie, Martin Wayne Phillips, Jr. and wife, Kathy; 10 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; aunt, Alva Allemand; along with numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Agnes Perkins.
The family received friends from 5-8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 9. Visitation continued from 9- 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10 with the funeral service starting at 11 a.m. at Hargrove Bible Baptist Church, 1427 Hargrove Loop, DeQuincy. Pastor Paul Nugent officiated. Interment followed at Miller Cemetery in Starks.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. 4th Street, DeQuincy.
