Barbara Nell LaVergne, 71, was born Mar. 24, 1951 and passed away Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023. She was a beautician for 55 years and owned Magic Touch in Orange, Texas. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Kenneth Joseph LaVergne; daughter, Tammy VanZandt and husband, Jared; grandchildren, K.C. Kitchens and wife, Morgan, Jayden Stapleton and husband, Skyler, Mark Shay; great-grandchildren, Declan Stapleton and Ian Zerko; siblings, Linda Ann Leach, Marie Flory, and Steve Norwood.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Emmett and Gloria Mae Norwood.
The family will receive friends from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, with the funeral service starting at 2 p.m. at First Christian Church of Orangefield, 4234 FM 408, Orangefield, Texas. Pastor Mike Sullivan will be officiating. Interment will follow at Bland Cemetery in Orange, Texas.
Arrangements are being handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. 4th Street, DeQuincy.
