Carolyn Denise “Niecy” Griffin, 57, Monday, Dec. 12, 2022, in a Sulphur hospital.
She was born in DeQuincy and was a lifelong resident of DeQuincy. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She was a graduate of DeQuincy High School and attended Southern University and Grambling State University. She worked as a nurse’s assistant.
She is survived by, two sons, Marlon Davis and Paris Griffin; three sisters, Katherine Freeman, Leronica Cole, and Tina Adams; three brothers, Michael Griffin, Melton Griffin Jr., and David Griffin; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Melton and Mayolia Perkins Griffin.
Her funeral was held Saturday, Dec. 17 at First Church of God in Christ in DeQuincy. Pastor Marvin Durgan officiated Burial was at DeQuincy Community Cemetery under the direction of James Funeral Home.
