Sylvester Hanna

Sylvester “Woody” Hanna, 73, was born Mar. 20, 1949, and passed away Saturday, Nov. 12, 2022. He lived a life full of adventures and joy, surrounded by all who loved him to the very end of his days. He was a Marine in Vietnam, a time that he loved because of the camaraderie that he found. He was a proud Marine, celebrating the Marine Corps birthday every Nov. 10th.

For those who knew him he was the person who always gave you direction, helped you where he could and taught you what he knew. As a friend said on his last day in this world, the Marine Corp helped instill his strong sense of dedication to his family and friends. He lived every day as if it were his last.

He is survived and will be greatly missed by his wife of 39 years, Ana Hanna; children, Dora Salas and Rolando Guerra; his grandchildren, Alizon, Amy, and Gabby; and his many friends who became extended family.

Cremation has been entrusted to Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W Fourth Street, DeQuincy.
