At 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 17, DeQuincy American Legion Post 183 held its monthly meeting in the fellowship hall at the Temple Baptist Church. Commander Jerry Bell called the meeting to order, introduced the special guests, and then gave special recognition to our WWII member Allen Landry. After business was conducted, a special meal was provided by Arnold and Brenda Blagrave and Jeri Henagan.
District Vice Commander Sam Doucet gave a briefing on special projects that the American Legion is involved in.
After the meeting, a photo was taken depicting the officers of Post 183 and the special guests and then the meeting was called back to order. Comments from the members were made thanking Temple Baptist Church for the use of their facility and to the guests for coming.
Commander Bell stated that the next meeting would be on the third Thursday of January 2023. He then closed the meeting and stated, “till we meet again, for God and Country”.
