Ward 6 Fire announced that the burn ban in Calcasieu Parish has been lifted.
If you plan to burn, make sure you have an adequate water supply, create defensible fire lines around your fire, follow CPPJ open burning ordinance.
Open burning is allowed for vegetative yard waste only. Burning of plastics, rubber, and man-made materials is in violation of Parish ordinance. These items should be disposed of at a local landfill or one of the CPPJ solid waste centers.
If you are burning and your fire gets out of control, Call 911 immediately so fire crews can respond to contain the fire.
