Calvin Lynn Hyatt was born Feb. 27, 1953 and passed away Sunday, Oct. 23, 2022, at the age of 69. In his early years Calvin worked on a tug boat, construction, and Gilmer Auto. In his later years, he worked on small motors and odd end jobs. He loved traveling in bands playing his guitar. Most of all he enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Mae Hyatt; children, Samuel Lynn Hyatt and wife, Nicky, Tearany Gilly and husband, Kevin, Damon Hyatt, Jonathon Hyatt and wife, Carmen, Tiffany Ivey and husband, Bryan, and Warren Hyatt; 23 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Lee; and three nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Emma Hyatt; son, Calvin Lynn Hyatt, Jr.; sisters, Jewel Doyle and Netty Pierce; brother, George Parker; and niece, Edith Lee Hext.
The family received friends from 9-11 a.m. with the funeral beginning at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 25, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy. Rev. Mike Streams officiated. Interment followed at Hyatt Cemetery in Fields.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. 4th Street, DeQuincy.
