Esther Lou Lucius was born July 15, 1939 and passed away Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2022 at the age of 83. Esther was a graduate of DeQuincy High School and a lifelong member of The Pentecostal Church of DeQuincy. She loved to travel and she especially enjoyed the trips with her friends to Branson, Mo. Esther enjoyed laughing, joking and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her children, John Lucius and wife, Melissa and Mitzi Lucius; two grandchildren, Taylor Lucius and wife, Heather and Sydney Lucius; and great granddaughter, Ruby Mae Lucius, She is also survived by her brother, Allen Ray Stovall and Sally.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Lucius; parents, Simeon Stovall and Vida Lee Rigmaiden Stovall; and sisters, Donnie Sue Hughes and Simmie Denton.
The family received friends from 12-2 p.m., on Saturday, Oct. 8, with the funeral service beginning at 2 p.m. at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy. Interment followed at Perkins Cemetery in DeQuincy.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. 4th Street, DeQuincy.
