Ward Six Fire Protection District Captain, Teri Parker, was recently chosen by the SWLA Mutual Aid Association as the 2022 Emergency Responder of the Year. She was chosen from approximately 10 nominees across five parishes in Southwest Louisiana and was presented with two plaques, as well as a Certificate of Commendation. The awards were presented at the SWLA Emergency Responder Appreciation Day event, held on Saturday, September 10 at the Lake Charles Civic Center.
Captain Parker joined Ward Six Fire Protection as a volunteer in January 1992 and was hired as full time District Captain in September 1997.
She is a lifelong resident of the DeQuincy area and is the daughter of Loyd Parker and Wanda Parker.
