Calvin Fluty

Calvin Landon Fluty, 84, of DeQuincy died on Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2022. He was born in Crum, W. Va. and was a resident of DeQuincy for the past 30 years.

He was a member of Maplewood First Baptist Church of Sulphur and he was a Mason. He retired from the United States Army in 1979 after 23 years of service at the rank of Sergeant First Class after serving in the Vietnam War and Korean War. He was formerly employed by Chemical Xpress as a Truck Driver for over 20 years.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Ann Fluty; parents, Solomon and Elsie Fluty; three brothers; and one sister.

He is survived by his wife, Juanita Marcum Fluty of DeQuincy; son, Ray Fluty and wife Tina of Westlake; daughter, Denise Green and husband Ray of Missouri City, Texas; brother, Melvin Fluty of Elk City, OKla.; sisters, Effie Burns of Copley Ohio, Jessie Burchett of Kermit, W. Va.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The family received friends on Saturday, Sept. 10, at the Hixson Funeral Home Chapel in Westlake. Cremation was entrusted to Hixson Funeral Home.
