Layne Emerson Richard, 65, of Ragley died Friday, July 29, 2022 at his residence.
He was born in Lake Charles where he was raised and was a graduate of LaGrange High School. He moved to Ragley in 1993 where he currently resided. He was a skilled welder for the Pipeliners Local #798 for 40 years. He held many titles in industry including foreman, job steward, and fabricator. He attended First Pentecostal Church in Lake Charles.
He is survived by his children, Jessie Richard of Lake Charles and Leslie Ashworth (Bradley) of Ragley; siblings, Don Alan Richard of Ragley, Gwen Richard of Houston, Kay Womack of Montgomery, Texas, and Ron Richard of Lake Charles; his companion, Beverly Prince of Ragley; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Casey and Thelma Richard; grandparents; and one granddaughter.
Visitation was held Friday, Aug. 12, in the Johnson Funeral Home chapel in Moss Bluff. Cremation followed.
